CityNeighborhoods Paris is a photographic, mapping, and research-informed project documenting Paris through civic, cultural, historical, and geographic layers, including arrondissements, administrative quarters, neighborhood councils, the two banks of the Seine, and cultural neighborhoods.

The Site is intended for informational, educational, documentary, and creative purposes.

Unless otherwise noted, all content on the Site—including photographs, text, maps, graphics, logos, icons, page designs, and other visual or written materials—is owned by CityNeighborhoods Paris / CityNeighborhoods and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may:

View the Site for personal, non-commercial use.

Share links to pages on the Site.

Quote brief excerpts with appropriate credit and a link back to the Site, where legally permitted.

You may not, without prior written permission:

Reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, or commercially exploit Site content.

Copy or reuse photographs, maps, graphics, logos, icons, or design elements.

Use Site content for automated scraping, dataset creation, artificial intelligence training, machine learning models, image-generation datasets, or similar technologies.

Remove watermarks, credits, metadata, copyright notices, or attribution.

If you are a researcher, educator, journalist, local institution, nonprofit, cultural organization, or other party interested in using materials from the Site, please contact us. Permissions are often possible with proper context, credit, and use limitations.

Photographs on the Site may include buildings, monuments, public spaces, streets, signs, transit infrastructure, storefronts, artwork, advertisements, trademarks, logos, or other incidental visual elements.

Such appearances are documentary in nature and do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, approval, or partnership with CityNeighborhoods Paris.

CityNeighborhoods Paris uses research-informed interpretation, mapping, historical context, civic structure, and street-level observation to describe Paris and its layers.

Some frameworks discussed on the Site, such as arrondissements and administrative quarters, correspond to official civic structures. Other frameworks, such as cultural neighborhoods, historic milieus, informal districts, and interpretive geographic relationships, may reflect research-informed analysis, historical usage, cultural identity, local convention, or project-specific interpretation.

Neighborhood boundaries, cultural districts, historical notes, translations, descriptions, and geographic relationships on the Site should not be treated as official legal, governmental, real estate, administrative, or regulatory determinations.

The Site is not an official source of municipal information and should not be relied upon for legal, governmental, zoning, real estate, property, travel, safety, or administrative decisions.

The Site may link to or use third-party websites, platforms, tools, and services, including but not limited to:

Google services, including analytics, maps, advertising, and search tools.

Squarespace services, including hosting, forms, newsletters, and site infrastructure.

External websites, references, maps, cultural institutions, government resources, or related projects.

Photography, gallery, print, or media services, where applicable.

Third-party websites and services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and practices. CityNeighborhoods Paris is not responsible for third-party content, policies, transactions, availability, accuracy, or security.

If you subscribe to a newsletter or mailing list connected to CityNeighborhoods Paris or the broader CityNeighborhoods project, you agree to receive periodic emails, updates, announcements, or related communications.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails.

If you send feedback, corrections, historical resources, memories, photographs, stories, suggestions, or other materials (“Submissions”), you grant us permission to read, store, review, and respond to your message.

We will not publish your name, personal story, photograph, or submission publicly without your explicit permission.

We may use anonymous or generalized insights from submissions to improve the Site, correct errors, refine boundaries, update descriptions, or strengthen historical and geographic accuracy.

By submitting materials, you confirm that you have the right to share them and that doing so does not violate the rights of others.

You agree not to:

Attempt to interfere with the Site’s operation, availability, security, or infrastructure.

Introduce viruses, malware, malicious code, automated attacks, or abusive traffic.

Scrape, harvest, copy, extract, or compile Site content or data in ways that violate these Terms.

Use Site content for unauthorized commercial purposes.

Use Site content for artificial intelligence training, machine learning datasets, automated image/text generation systems, or similar technologies without permission.

Misrepresent CityNeighborhoods Paris content as your own.

Use the Site for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes.

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.”

CityNeighborhoods Paris makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site’s accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, security, accessibility, or fitness for a particular purpose.

While we aim to provide careful, research-informed, and thoughtful material, errors, omissions, outdated information, or interpretive differences may occur.

CityNeighborhoods Paris is a documentary and informational project. While the Site may describe neighborhoods, streets, landmarks, transit, parks, public spaces, walks, routes, and street-level observations, it is not a substitute for professional travel, safety, medical, legal, governmental, or local guidance.

Conditions in Paris can change quickly, including construction, closures, transit disruptions, demonstrations, weather, traffic, crowd conditions, safety concerns, access rules, and local regulations.

By using the Site, you understand and agree that any decision to visit Paris, follow a route, rely on information from the Site, enter a location, photograph a place, or use public space is made at your own discretion and risk.

You are responsible for your own safety, planning, conduct, belongings, travel documents, and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

CityNeighborhoods Paris is not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, delay, expense, disruption, or other harm arising from travel, navigation, photography, visits, or activities connected to locations mentioned on the Site.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CityNeighborhoods Paris / CityNeighborhoods will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Site.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages related to errors, omissions, interruptions, delays, lost data, lost opportunities, travel disruptions, location access, personal injury, property loss, third-party services, or reliance on Site content.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective date above reflects the most recent version.

Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means that you accept the updated Terms.
